This is an old hotel and bar/restaurant that has been closed for several years now. There is lots of graffiti on the sign that still stands next to the w/b side of Charlotte Pike, and on the barricade that blocks access to the property. One can also see lots of graffiti on the old bar building (former location of the Crow's Nest). It also appears that this building has been seriously vandalized. I think that the City of Nashville should attempt to force the property owner to raize the entire site.

This property still hasn't been cleaned up.
However, I believe that this property may be owned by the same company that developed the Nashville West shopping center. Maybe somebody at the Metro Codes office could lay a little pressure on them?

On October 28, 2010 the Department of Codes and Building Safety met with the owners of this property, Nashville West Shopping Center, LLC., the correct address being 6834 Charlotte Pike, and while Codes had asked that the structure be demolished, at the Hearing the owners provided documentaiton that they have the funds to restore and rehab the structures and asked that we place the property under a one year vacate anc close action. Informatin provided to our Department detailed future development of some structures being demolished and some repaired. Under a vacate and close order, any and all structures must be boarded and or secured to be safe to surrpounding neighbors. Since this location is not a safety hazars to surrounding residential properties, and is chained off, we will allow a vacate order to stand and the owners will have to make all repairs or demolish on or before October 31, 2011. The Codes RFS Number is 10-1051483.

Karene, this is indeed very helpful to me, and I do appreciate your comment. The reasons that I decided to close the issue on the www.seeclickfix.com website were twofold: 1. My wife and I are moving to Gering, Nebraska, next week; therefore, I won't be here to see the issue resolved. 2. It looked to me like you folks at Metro Codes had the issue well in hand. After all, when I drove by there the other day, I did see a bulldozer parked inside the barricades. That implies to me that somebody is about to do some demolition. That, in and of itself, would be a vast improvement to the property.
Thank you very much for your help in this matter. I greatly appreciate it. It is my hope that the Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska, government will be as helpful as you have been when I report issues back there.
