Description

The lights in the tunnel section of teh path are OUT. The purpose of the path is to provide a means for bicyclists and pedestrians to avoid the very dangerous roadway that is 890 and the 890 on/off ramps. The dark tunnel has now itself become the hazard! Please fix these lights so people can be safe while traveling the tunnel.

I frequently use this passage when I ride my bicycle to work and agree that it is hazardous without the lights. A number of volunteers will be working to clean up the growth and debri that have taken over the passage. Hopefully the city will do its part and turn on the lights.

There is a picture attached of what the tunnel looks like on a bright summer day. Its much darker when it's overcast and much more "at-your-own-risk" when the sun goes down. PLEASE FIX THIS, Schenectady!

Not to mention most of the concrete at the southern base of this is gone, spalled with reinforcement showing. How does this pass inspection?

This tunnel is one of only two access points to the GE campus for pedestrians and cyclists. These lights have been out for YEARS and the city has agreed they are city of Schenectady jurisdiction but have done nothing to repair them.

Please repair the lights to discourage grafitti and dringing in the tunnel. I have women friend who will not go through the tunnel unescorted becuase it appears unsafe

In low light, the tunnel is too dark. In bright sunlight, eyes cannot change fast enough when riding a bike through the tunnel, so it remains too dark. Lights should be repaired to avert safety concerns.
