From FDOT: Maintenance reviewed this area yesterday. We had gotten a complaint in August regarding 2199 Gulf to Bay so maintenance was asked to look at the entire area.
The westbound location where the City of Clearwater paved over the city manhole cover looks good.
The eastbound direction is the location where the eastbound and northbound lanes have been overlaid due to the storm water pipe failing. The overlay is a little higher than the rest, but I does not pose a safety hazard factor.
What is 'a little higher'? I am sure there is a spec for height over a road surface. Was this driven at the posted speed limit to see how safe this is for a four wheel and two wheel vehicle?
