This light is ridiculously long for South Main Street - I believe that if you hit the round about at the college when it turned green at 98 you easily make this light.

Sorry - I think we are talking about different places. There is no college or roundabout at the intersection of 98 and S. Main. The light only stays green for a few seconds, at least on Sat. evening which is the only time I drive there.

Thanks so much - this has been going on at least 2 months. When our (large) church gets out Sat. evening, it takes almost 30 minutes to go the few blocks from W. Holding to 98 because of that problem with the lights. The first report I made of it mentioned that there were 2 police cars at the intersection and I thought they were going to direct traffic but they didn't.

It must be at certain times because I was there Saturday morning and the light for South main lasted about 3 solid minutes green - not kidding

I suspected it didn't happen all the time or something would have been done about it. We get out of church 6:15-6:30 PM and that is when I see it. It is still amazing no one has complained because the backup of traffic goes way back on S. Main. There is no way we on W. Holding would ever get out except that the drivers on S. Main are always kind enough to let us feed into the line.

Noticed it was extremely short this morning, letting 5 cars through blocking up traffic past the church. Approx 10am

The problem may well be the sheer number of vehicles exiting from your church. Having lived on W. Holding for a decade I was surprised when the church expansion was allowed in our neighborhood. Prior to that there were already significant traffic issues. I do not typically experience the problem that you are having, however I have learned over time that I must, if at all possible, avoid getting into my car when church is beginning or ending so I am not out during those times.
