  There is only ever a "traffic jam" when the kids are playing in the driveways and the cars are parked on the street. It is actually a good thing because it makes the cars slow down. There is plenty of room for an ambulance to get through.

  There are more pressing issues for the lower end of Haynes Rd from cars not stopping at the Fenwick intersection to cars parking to go over to Simpson park and leaving trash and needles after they leave(that is where the no parking sign should be).

  I disagree. There is often a problem with the cars parked on both sides of the street even when kids are not playing. The only time I've seen cars parked when kids are playing, they park their cars at the end of their own driveway and they are not in the actual street. Although, blocking the sidewalk. Many times, there is barely enough room for a truck to get by so to say there is enough room for an ambulance or fire truck is just not true. Perhaps you have not seen it when I have. I agree that there are issues with the Stop sign, that has been a problem for about 40 years. I love whoever put the arrow pointing down at the stop line on the actual sign! I think it has actually helped, in addition, just yesterday there was a Framingham Police Officer sitting on Haynes watching people. Part of the parking issue is people going over to Simpson Park. If you recall, there never used to be a real curb at the bottom of the road so these cars could pull over onto the grass to get out of traffic. Now, with the curbs, the cars are parked right in the road on both sides. I agree with the trash and find it annoying but has there actually been NEEDLES found?? I would be calling the police to come get it immediately! THAT IS HORRIBLE!

  I have never had an issue getting by, unless there are two cars trying to get by, but I did see a moving truck get through there a few weekends ago. Nevertheless the real issues are the other ones and yes there was neede found down there and we brought it to the attention of the parents with the kids at the bus stop, and the police came and got it...

  So I also live on Haynes Rd. There is no chance that an ambulance or fire truck couldn't get through - two large moving truck just made it through a few weeks ago. The cars, when they park at the end of the driveways because the kids are playing, are NEVER on the sidewalk. Have you ever been prevented from walking on the sidewalks because of the cars? I have not had that experience, and I walk on Haynes Rd frequently when the cars are parked that way. They are 2/3 on the road and 1/3 on the driveway, not reaching the sidewalks. The police are now patrolling the intersection because of the people on Haynes Rd. making so many calls about that intersection. That is a huge safety issue. And yes, there are some unsavory characters at Simpson Park from time to time. That is also a bigger safety issue than the cars.
  And thank God for the curb. The Simpson park people used to pull up on the lawns - not really ideal for the Haynes rd residents or the grass.
  As a resident of the street that does not have young children and does not have cars in the road, I wanted to give my two cents worth. The parking situation is only crowded when both the kids are playing AND people are visiting Simpson Park, and the ocassional family and friends gathering. I for one like to see people out and about.

  Ok, if a car is parked on EACH SIDE of the road I can barely get my car through. Say whatever you want, it happens, more than once and if I cant get my car through an ambulance and a fire truck will not get through either. Other neighbors have said the same thing so...Yes, if a car is parked on one side, that is fine. I also do not believe a moving truck can get by if cars are parked side by side. I have no issue with cars parking at the end of their driveways when the kids are playing. Like I said, those cars are not in the street. I have called the police many times because of that stop sign and how dangerous that intersection has become. The bottom of Haynes has become a problem and that is why I started this post. I'm not saying the Stop sign isn't a problem, I'm not saying the people and activities that are going on down there are not a problem BUT I'm asking the town to ENFORCE THE LAW. I looked it up and street parking is permitted on the even side of the street during even years and on the odd side of the street during odd years. I don't care about the cars parking on the street, just pick one side or the other!!!

  Well, we are all neighbors and there are clearly a few problems with this end of the road. Lets all keep our eyes open and call the police if there are is anything suspicious going on! Lets keep our neighborhood safe for all of us! Thanks!

  Stephen Cronin, we were wondering if you could help guide us in the right direction for this issue. On Haynes Rd there are houses at the bottom that have kids and during the day there are aids/babysitters that are there and need to park. This morning there were tickets given to the aids/babysitters. We have lived on the street for 8 years and have never seen a ticket issued. There should have been warnings given. If someone in the neighborhood has a serious problem then they should talk to the neighbors at the bottom and they could give people warning (I just drove by and gave someone a warning that they were on the wrong side). Here is my suggestion that will help. There needs to be signs put up that says "no fishing parking". With this being the even year then if you have all of the fishing parking on that side of the street, where are the aids/babysitters/guests supposed to park? All the way up on Bryant? Plus with the no parking sign it would keep the streets clean, because the fishing parkers litter everywhere. How can we get the signs put up? Thanks

  Why don't we all observe the parking law in town? It is the same law all over town. You park on the odd numbered side during years that are odd numbered and the even side when it is an even year. So, everyone should park on the side of the street where the numbers are even. Next year, we switch sides. Also, people can park in driveways. It doesn't matter why someone is there or who they are there to see. The town will not put up signs because it is a town law already in effect. Most of the times the fishing people aren't there until later in the day so if babysitters/aids are there in the morning, they should have no problem parking. Just way too many people not observing the laws of the town and having no consideration for others. I've called about parking in front of hydrants too. Lets keep our neighborhood safe!

  The law is the same all over town. Even year, even side, odd year, odd side. I sat behind a truck cleaning out the drains yesterday for ten minutes because there was a car parked on the wrong side beside it. Sick of it! I'll call every day to enforce the law. It's out of control. For whatever reason you're parked there, park on the even numbered side all the way up Haynes.

  I feel badly for the family that received the tickets. They require aids and babysitters for their children with special needs. They are also new to the town and may not have been aware of the parking rules in this town. It sure would have been a lot more friendly and neighborly to ask them to move their cars, or at least issue a warning only, especially as tickets have NEVER been issued for this on Haynes Rd in the past. (In fact, I have called to ask permission to park on the "wrong" side of the road for overnight guests and have been told Haynes Rd. is "not an issue."

  While our Patrol force responds to calls for service related to parking violations, the majority of parking tickets are issued by the parking enforcement officer who monitors our downtown area and other locations that draw public concern. She works under the direction of the Safety Officer, Lt Downing, 508 532 5910. Lt Downing also sits on the Traffic Roadway safety committee which are involved in the process of approving road signage. Lt Downing would be your best source of information related to your concerns.

  Neiko, the houses at the bottom of Haynes Rd are the ones that have the biggest issue with the parking. They are the ones that have to deal with cars being parked in front of their houses all of the time, they have deal with cars turning around in their driveways all of the time, and it gets dangerous when little kids are involved, and now with the summer here there are more and more cars parked there for fishing which brings more and more trash and makes the neighborhood as a whole look crappy. This could all be resolved with not letting people park on Haynes and fish. Once everyone starts abiding by the rules and they need to go park on Bryant, then people will see the real issue when it starts affecting them for more than the extra 2 seconds it takes to drive by an extra car park on the wrong side of the road.

  Also, so you are aware, people have received tickets in the past for parking on both Haynes and Bryant.. so, just because you aren't aware, don't say, NEVER.

  If you can't keep the street clean don't allow parking this is a disgrace also this is a kids bus stop and there were rolling papers on the ground
