Description
Everytime it rains, NC 55 floods under the railroad underpass. Town of Apex has acknowledged it as they put high water signs up. Why has nothing further been done? Is more drains needed? Some sort of full street drain and/or pumps?
Ive seen tons of people hydroplane with this so its a big safety issue.

Tim Donnelly, Public Works director, writes:
Mr. Scarborough,
The flooding under the railroad bridge has been a problem for many years. The road (NC 55) is owned and maintained by NCDOT. We have reported this issue to them many times. There are some small improvements that can be done to the storm water inlets that may help. I suspect a complete fix would involve shutting down NC 55 and be very expensive. You might try calling 919 733-4768 as a starting point.

I have passed the concern on to NCDOT. I'll follow up with the reply here.
