When I drive on 15th street from hoosick st, heading toward RPI, I am always amazed at the horredous condition of the road surface. It is like riding a bump, dip, pothole filled roller coaster.
I'm really quite surprised that given RPIs influence in Troy and it's world renowned status, this street is allowed to even be in such a state of disrepair.
Parents bringing (or visiting) their kids at RPI college must be baffled at how the road in front of the main campus of a $60k /year college can be neglected like it is?!
I also think there should be a tunnel under the street at the main crosswalk on 15th street. This would allow students to safely cross ANYTIME and allow drivers on 15th street to continue past RPI without worrying about students crossing in traffic.

15th street is in even worse condition now with more large square patches that don't get refilled enough to make the road smooth. Theres a new unfilled patch right after McDonalds.
15th street from hoosick to rte 2 is one of the worst maintained streets in Troy.Maybe the city counsel, the mayor and the DPW can ride down 15th a few times and understand the gravity of the situation?

One of the crown jewels of Troy is RPI. People come from all over the country (WEALTHY PEOPLE!) to send and then visit their kids here. You would think that spending $50-$60k per year would also entitle people to a smooth road surface driving to and from the campus.
How can the city let the main road to one of the best engineering colleges in the country get in such horrible condition? Show a little gratitude for what RPI brings to Troy and fix 15th street from Hoosick to rte 2. It's really in bad shape.
