Yes every Saturday I fly my model airplane at Sunnybrook Park. I try to be the first one there ( I like the airspace ) I usually have my plane engine gassed up and rippin by 8:15a.m. My model plane club will be holding a plane gathering every Saturday at sunny Brook starting at 7:30 a.m. starting on March 27. I just sent a mass email to my airplane club about the event. I hope you join us for the event and buy a plane. Stop by bright and early any Saturday and will talk planes. The event will happen every Saturday until November. I hope to see you there. ( Donuts always welcome ) I have used planes for sale if your interested. Stop down any Saturday.

Day light savimgs is a plane enthusiasts best friend. That is why our event will start at 7:30 a.m. instead of 8:30a.m. Sorry man but Sunny Brook is the most peaceful place to fly planes and relax. You are correct in saying Sunny Brook is the most peacefull place in the morning. It is to bad that you have such little regard for those who live in the area who do not whish to be disturbed so early in the morning. I only ask for a little more consideration. There are those who like to ban your sport all together.

It's a unique situation to have both parties involved in the same thread - hopefully there can be a reasonable compromise in the near future.

I have a good friend who is a model plane enthusiast, but I also understand they can be loud.

Whatever can or can't be done, just keep it civil and hopefully some concessions can be made.

Well put. I have spoken to the club president several times. We have met and I belive as a result, the start time for gas models is now 9:00 AM. I also recently met another member who's plane was blown into my yard. I got to admit, after looking at it, it looked like a fun hobby to have.

Also glad to see a compromise. As we all now model airplanes is a friendly sport and there is no reason to not get along. Good job guys.

Amazing to see two people come to an agreement so fast. I am also a model plane enthusiast and did not know that you could fly planes at Sunny Brook Park?? You will definitely see me there flying my planes on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I will tell everyone I know that Sunny Brook allows you to fly model planes as early as 7:30 a.m. I use to drive 25miles to fly my planes on the weekends. Good to know there is a local spot to gather with friends and fly planes and Sunny Brook Park is that spot. We should all Spread the word.

No it is not 9:00. There is no rule that says that. I will be there by 8:00 a.m. if not earlier. Noone is going to stop me or say anything except you. We have stremgth in numbers and we will be flying planes at 8:00 a.m. You have no proof of thay and your lying. Sunny Brook is the spot to fly planes early as you want. As of when did this get changed liar. Between yesterday and yoday they supposedly passed a new rule. No one likes a liar and you really stepped in it man. That is the worst lie ever. Stop down and we will talk. Who is gonna make me turn my plane off if it is 8:20 a.m. Noone and you know that. Your scare tactics will not
work and we will win. There are bigger issues then people flying planes and you are a liar.

I dont like to call people liars but that story does not make much sense. Within 24 hours you got all these rules made for people who fly model airplanes. That would take months and many hours of your free time to get a rule like that past. Yes Torrington has real problems like crime and drugs and that is what we need to focus on catching the real criminals in this town. Go and buy some ear plugs and you probably should not make enemies with a club of people. Good luck but it seems like you made some people upset and know you have to deal with that.

What is the difference between people flying planes at 8 or 9 in the morning? Who would enforce a Law like that. So if you start your engine at 8:40 A.M. what do you think is going to happen?? Absolutely nothing. Do you think the police are going to rush to Sunny Brook to see if someone is flying a gas engine model plane?

Laws in t-town for construction noise is 7 a.m. The planes make the same noise as backhoes, jackhammers etc. I'm not saying it is right but all last summer on my days off I had to listen to this. They would sit and start up right at 7. And I was working nights. The only thing you can do is change the noise ordinances and the was this town is going downhill that isn't going to happen. Be glad it's not a bunch of losers with a bonfire and loud music drinkin and shootin up like down on E. Elm or W. Pearl. At least these people are trying to have good clean fun.

Seriously, I live off of Pearl Street and where I park my car there are syringes on the ground. It makes me depressed every time I walk to my car. I hope the T-Town cops start to patrol areas like Pearl Street and arrest all these scumbag junkies. Every time I walk to my car I am waiting to see if someone has broken into it. I wish my biggest worries were loud model airplanes and not loser, junkies breaking into my car. Please catch these losers and put them in jail. Thank You

Problem partialy resolved

Good Times. I work the night shift and love flying model planes early in the morning. I will drive from work right to Sunny Brook and start flying. I wont make it there until 7:30 a.m. I hope to see other model plane enthusiasts flying early in the morning as well. Flying planes is a great way to make new friends at Sunny Brook Park. This appears to be some joker who does not fly and is not part of the club. The new filed rules are 9:00 am start time. This individule is sending out false information and i believe is just trying to strir up the pot!
