I see more and more people posting about this. It is so bad, and the engineer seems to not want to address this. Those tracks are so high now it is downright dangerous to drive over! Why is the city ignoring this hazard?

Those tracks are actually a dead rail. No train has used that rail for 25 years.

Still no action taken on this one. The tracks are only part of the issue, that whole area is terrible. Anyone who drives on it knows exactly what I mean. They did some construction a few years back right at the light at Dove, probably for the hospital, but left a huge dip there along with other messes. They never fixed it.

However, one thing I want to note as well is that I see a lot of negative comments about the city and the roads, etc, but credit needs to be given as well. We have seen all over this city this summer construction on the roads. Derby is being worked on, parts of Essex, Summer, North, Canal has started, up by the Commons, and so on. Everyone complains about roads needing to be fixed and then we all complain when the work is being done b/c of traffic. I will stand by Jefferson being a mess, but want to note as well that I think the city has invested a lot in its infrastructure as of late. So I am not just a griper haha!

Tracks at Jefferson Ave have been removed this a.m. !!

Wow really? Have not been there since 2 nights ago, going to have to head out there and check it out today! Of course, I am sure that if that is correct, noone will acknowledge it and be thankful that action was finally taken (I will though).

Thank you for reporting this street defect. We will add your roadway to the list for future considerations of paving operations. The City maintains a pavement master plan that provides an overall road surface rating for all City-owned roadways. Paving determinations are made primarily on the basis of that master plan, in conjunction with other factors, including volume of traffic, safety, and efficiency in utilizing available resources.

Hey so this was great, the tracks were indeed removed and it has been smooth sailing so to speak over where they used to be. Thanks to the city for finally getting those removed, it is a big help. I still believe that the rest of the road needs to be fixed in that area, though I see that some asphalt has been added to some of the potholes. Thanks to the city though!

FYI the paving of part of Jefferson is scheduled for this fall. The problem is they are only paving from St Anns to Preston Rd about 500 yards.

So rather than pave the worst of the street they are just doing in front of Ste. Anne's and over the hill. WHAT A JOKE

Yup. It would be nice if the city would explain the thinking behind this issue. The area being paved is perhaps in better condition than any other part of the road.
