There are already several speed humps on Madison, they are ineffectual.

A sidewalk would be nice, especially with the elementary school at the corner of Madison and Hiden, however I doubt the city has the money to A: buy the number of feet of property needed from each resident and B: start a large construction job.

If Warwick Blvd ever gets finished, some of the speeders will disappear.......they use Madison as a "smooth" alternative to Warwick.

This past Saturday someone on a scooter was hit by a car near my house on Madison Lane and had to be taken to the hospital...It was bound to happen the way people drive on this road. Summer is coming and all the kids will be walking or riding bikes to the pool and I get scared for them. I've lived there almost 14 years (prior to CNU expanding) and it's always been a problem. If police would do more ticketing in this area maybe people would be less likely to speed.

The number one key to you or your child's safety is you or your child. Warranted, tickets will deter and reduce risk, but they cannot and will not 100% eliminate the risk. Drivers keep it slow, but parents and children, be 100% conscious of your environment and DO NOT depend of drivers to be in the right.

They've only been working on Warwick for five years, give it time! they're to be finished by 2012. then all this traffic will move back over to Warwick. The mayor lives on Madison ... that's funny! Serves him right if that's true!

Except the mayor lives on Madison on the other side of Hiden, by the back entrance to the country club, where the road is a dead end and not a cut through. He doesn't contend with speeders heading toward Deep Creek.

There are still problems with speeding, but I think with the police officer moving at the corner of Madison & Executive, I think that has helped slightly.
