Description
It's always been difficult for southbound traffic on Maple to turn left onto Michigan Ave, since they have to wait for the northbound Old Creek traffic to clear. With the additional traffic rerouted onto Henry St now, the line of traffic coming up to US-12 from Old Creek is solid, and the waiting traffic at Maple wanting to turn left onto US-12 can only increment 1-2 vehicles at a time.
A good idea would be to sync the traffic light at Old Creek & Henry with the northbound light from Old Creek. The northbound traffic at Old Creek could be green while the southbound light at Maple and US-12 would be red. When the northbound light off Old Creek turned red, THEN the light for the southbound Maple traffic would turn green and southbound Maple traffic could clear easier and create less of a traffic jam.

If a driver on south Maple TRYING to turn left onto Michigan Ave cars go through the red light preventing left turn. We waited three red lights today as the front car and northbound drivers zoomed straight through a red light and we barely missed turning into his truck!
Then on the next opportunity a bicyclist coming North was in the right hand turn lane on Old Creek and ran straight through and we could have hit him as he went straight on red light from the right turn lane! Look out Saline! A tragedy is WAITING to happen .

Since my original post on this issue, they have added a right turn light for going east onto US12 while westbound traffic on US12 is still moving. But once the westbound US12 light turns red, the north bound traffic coming off Old Creek still blocks any southbound traffic until it's clear and this usually allows for one or two vehicles to turn left.
I still think the best solution is a 3 way red light stop so each group of traffic can exhaust thru the intersection. And the northbound light at US12 need to be in sync with the light at Harris and Old Creek. I have found a workaround but it's still a pain.

I know exactly what you mean - maybe the city will wake up if someone gets injured - or worse - and files a lawsuit.
Even a 3rd grader would know that the only solution, with the additional traffic coming from Henry and up to US12 from Old Creek, would be to have 3 way stoplights at that intersection, so ALL traffic could flow thru safely.
