I also find used condoms all the time along Elm St between Hubinger and W Park. I had no idea this was a common area for prostitutes to bring clients?? Can someone tell me why this is? I'm curious. I am concerned about the health risk to my child and my dog - they are just in the grass and could easily be picked up by them!

On Saturday I witnessed a negotiation gone bad, right in front of my house. Man pulls over, trick gets out, swearing at the top of her lungs, screaming about him trying to screw her out of her money, he screams right back with equal profanity, it's all so DISGUSTING, and on a block full of young children. A new family moved in last week, across the street - they must already feel New Haven's charming reality. I see used condoms all over New Haven's streets. No one cares, everyone looks the other way. I cannot even walk down my block alone without some john assuming I'm a whore because I am a female pedestrian. The old alder didn't care about it, she was advised, she knew, and we don't even hear a peep from the new one, who knows what she's up to. I have emailed her and received NO REPLIES. Most of the alders are a waste, and they see the position as a stepping stone to something "greater." What's so great about being a government slave?? Other than to pacify one's screaming ego.

The condoms still show up. The street is dark. I reported the light not working. Prostitutes are still using the area.
