Description
Trying to cross here with kids and bicycles over the weekend--5 of us and 3 wearing high vis vests. We waited patiently for traffic to stop and were not jumping out in front of traffic. A WB/NB driver was kind enough to stop in safe fashion, the driver behind him came very close to rear-ending him, and the third driver decided to go around the other two in the turn lane before seeing if and screeching to a halt. We hadn't yet left the curb, but this was a little hair-raising. I don't know if this crossing slated for flashers, but seems a traffic island at a minimum might discourage attempts at passing cars that are stopped for pedestrians.
