Does anyone have an email for WHPD?

There is a New Haven Register truck that barrels down Ocean Avenue around 5:00 a.m. every day. He must be going 80 mph in a box truck.

Why is this permitted? Where is the WHPD? Residents shouldn't have to keep complaining about this decade after decade.

You want your speed traps BACK!? Beach Street is still waiting to have some speed patrol. The fact that Ocean Avenue ever had them, compared with the fact that we have never seen one on Beach St, points to the difference in how the city treats the "high end" of West Haven, versus those of us on this end, "the other side of the tracks" where the degree to which things are ignored by the city is far greater. From the blatant drug dealing going on at the First Ave boat launch, to that and other nefarious activities in the Sandy Point parking lot (across from Captain's Ghetto), to the "Open for abuse 24/7" Morse Park, that hasn't seen its gates locked since April, to the drag racing along Beach St ... the list goes on... we have a hard time sympathizing with the west shore. The problem is that the PD seems to have difficulty embracing the idea of law ENFORCEMENT. Posting the rules and laws is not the same thing as actually enforcing them, and you can't enforce them if you're never around.

The first comment goes back to 2009. This means that this issue has been open for FOUR YEARS and nothing has changed. Where are the police? I can't believe that no one in the WHPD has noticed the speeding on Ocean Avenue.

This issue has been viewed over 1,000 times now, yet cars and trucks continue to speed down Ocean Avenue. Are the police reading this? Where are they?
