Description
Flies and ants have infested this disgusting eyesore. The owner lives in Winchester and I'd bet there's no way that town would put up with something like this. Why does Stoneham? But that 15+ year issue aside, the current "activity" in that building is just gross.

The BOH, along with the Fire Department and Inspection Services Department conducted a joint inspection of the exterior of the premises on 6/10/16 @ 10am. Several deficiencies on site were noted. However, please understand that it is difficult for Town departments to enforce codes that do not pertain to this specific type of property. 105CMR410.000, otherwise known as the State Sanitary Code, does not pertain to abandoned commercial property, and outlines the minimum standards for human habitation. Be advised that there are restrictions to enforcing a code meant for residential housing on a blighted commercial building. Several REQUESTS have been sent to the owners regarding the clean-up of the property.
We are looking to receivership for this property, but for the same reasons as stated above, there are loopholes that protect commercial properties. We are currently in the process of contacting the owners of the property and are seeking a meeting with them to discuss the future of this building, as where it sits in such a state that renovation may not be possible, the best course of action may be the sale and demolition of the property, which we cannot force. We will continue to update you as we receive further information and direction.
Also, all Town departments are seeking further direction from their respective State departments and officials regarding possible precedent in dealing with this type of property with these types of issues. .

Would like at the very least for the front of the building to have:
a. the pig removed from the window
b. the broken window to be replaced.
c. the shades which are a mess to be replaced with either new shades or curtains which will cover the MESS inside.
Very upset about this. What happens when someone is bitten by a rat? Whose liability is at stake? I'm sure the town will be sued as well as the owner.
