We can put it on our list for repair. I can not give a time when that would be done at this time

I understand why you can't provide a precise time for completion, but can you confirm that the repair will be finished before the end of this summer?

Not only is the side walk on Eliot Hill Road a mess and dangerous but so is the street. I have lived here for 31 years and have seen the street patched up over and over again after Comcast, Verizon, Eversourse etc have torn it up. The street is way over due to be redone and so are the side walks. Diane Young

Not only has the town not fixed our sidewalk problem yet (31 days after I posted the issue), no one has confirmed a time table for making the repairs on our sidewalks. I don't know why our town government participates in this SeeClickFix program if they have no intention of responding to problems when they are pointed out.

Please be advised that we use see click fix as a tool for reporting problems.this does not mean that we will be able to fix some bigger issues right away. The Eliothill Road sidewalks do need a little work but for the most part are in good shape compared to some other neighborhood sidewalks. We will try to make some repairs before the fall.

It has been two months since I posted about this problem, and still no action has been taken by the Highway/Sanitation/Recycling Division supervisor!

This problem has been neglected for 151 days since I first posted a complaint. With neglect like this on the part of our town government, why do we all continue to pay property taxes???

Can you give me the street address of the sidewalk that you are talking about ? If i have a specific address (Not the whole area) that would help us do some repairs. As i stated before the sidewalks in that neighborhood are not all bad so if you give me an area that you are most concerned about we will do something now.

Your reply is nonsensical and a bit insulting. There are multiple spots along the entire length of the Eliot Hill Road sidewalks that need repair. I could not possibly describe all of them to you. I'd expect someone from your department to examine this for himself. Now that I have brought this issue to your attention on this public forum, the town risks lawsuits from residents who trip and injure themselves.

Richard, I understand your frustration. Two points in particular seem to stand out from the the latest (non?) reply you received from the town. One, if no one in a position of authority has yet been out to OFFICIALLY look at the problem how then can an unequivocal statement to the effect that "the sidewalks are not all bad" possibly be appropriate and/or valid regarding this now-long-ongoing situation? Secondly, while it is quite reasonable to assume that NO sidewalk is ALL bad, that does not preclude the fact that there may indeed be numerous sections of it that are hazardous and dangerous to the extent of being effectively impassable.

Eliot Hill Road is in severe need of repaving... It has pot holes and repairs over and over by Comcast, Evesource, Verizon etc.. the street has not been paved for over 35 years.. dangerous and a disgrace .. and property owners and tax payers deserve immediate attention to this matter.

I was pleased to see that some repair work has finally been done to a few of the problem areas along the sidewalks of Eliot Hill Road, but that work was undertaken when most stretches of the sidewalks were covered with leaves, so workers weren't able to see many of the portions that are dangerous to walk on and in need of repavement and/or patching. Hopefully this effort will resume next Spring, so I am keeping this issue open.

More repairs are needed. Only a small fraction of the dangerous sidewalk areas have been repaved.
