This is one of 3 cases on Markley (202) where it seems that whoever is in charge of the timing of lights gives preference to non-resident passerby commuters over residents trying to get out of their neighborhood. This occurs at Elm, Marshall, and Main; Elm being the worst condition. It is hard for me to imagine why someone would allow residents to wait 20 minutes to get through 1 intersection. To make things worse, when the lights turn green during rush hour, the Markley commuters constantly stop in the middle of intersections further blocking residents from leaving and there is no enforcement despite numerous signs stating, "Don't block the box." In many years I have never seen the police, who are often at that intersection, enforce that regulation.
