Description
We have many children in this neighbourhood who love to play on their bikes and scooters, unfortunately we also have a large amount of drivers who speed heavily down this road every day,.Its a major safety concern for many of us as parents down this road. Can you please advise? we would love to get speed bumps down here to slow the drivers down.

First and foremost - city streets are not intended for children to play.
We will however consider speed humps if the 24-hour average operating speed exceeds 35 MPH.
I will schedule studies and post the results with our recommendations.

Daniele,
The speed limit on 18th Avenue N is 30 MPH. Our recent 24-hour studies recorded average operating speeds of between 32 and 33 MPH. IN order for speed humps to be considered I must verify speeds in excess of 35 MPH. So this area does not qualify.
I have however met with the neighborhood association and I'm waiting for a letter requesting that 25 MPH speed limit signs be posted. As well, I'm waiting for a request to modify the stop sign grid so that there are stop sign every two blocks, to help reduce the opportunity to speed.
