Description
I-540 needs lane reflectors since there are no streetlights and it is difficult to see the lines at night, especially during heavy rain.
For example, as I was merging onto 540 East from Creedmoor Rd tonight, I could not easily tell when I was in the right-most lane due to the lack of reflectors. The wind and rain made it especially difficult to see the lines, so I had to merge over very slowly and try to orient my car with the car in front of me.
This is a safety hazard, and although traffic was moving slower due to the rain, I noticed some cars drifting into neighboring lanes. It is especially hard to tell exactly where your lane is when the road curves.
Lane reflectors could easily fix this problem and make 540 safer for everyone at night and in heavy rains.
