Well said Ian- it seems as though nothing has changed despite this issue being reported over and over again. Many people biking into Kendal ( myself included) use this thoroughfare, either turning left from Hampshire onto Broadway or traveling directly on Broadway into town. Draper has a loading dock located behind the building. Why these deliveries can't be made there is somewhat baffling. Anyway, please city of cambridge let's fix this so we can all get to work safely.

Thanks Pat! I've lost count of how many times I've filed a ticket for the same thing in this same spot, so I've had plenty of time to work on my delivery :).

Here's another one. This time the driver flipped me off after seeing me take a picture of his truck, sitting in the bike lane, parked right in front of a no stopping sign. Apart from being incredibly rude, this driver's attitude towards cyclists is completely uncalled for and something that I personally would consider harassment on the roads.

After the driver left I walked into the Draper Labs Loading Dock and asked to speak to a supervisor. A man was there, he said his name was Jeff, and he said that he doesn't see this practice ending anytime soon, and he said that with new construction at Draper Labs it'll only be worse. This is unacceptable, we just had a cyclist killed because she was forced into traffic, this is basically the exact same thing happening here, except we have supposedly "professional" drivers who are acting in the least professional manner possible.

Again, what will it take to put bollards, planters, or some other physical barrier up here to eliminate this problem once and for all? Or, take the other tact and just remove the bike lane. If it's a loading zone that's fine, but make it incredibly obvious and explicit that this space is NOT for cyclists, since currently we all expect that it *is* for cyclists.

The bike lane as designed is the best possible configuration within the existing roadway as it exists. Bollards are not possible given the lack of available width for a buffer, under the existing configuration they would be a hazard to both cyclists and vehicles. Conversion to a loading zone at this location is not appropriate given the volume of cyclists.

We continue to direct parking enforcement to this location to ticket and/or direct trucks to move to a legal loading location.

Also, reopening this, because the issue is not resolved. Just saying "This is the best we can do" is kind of a lame way to close an issue out. This literally affects hundreds, if not thousands, of cyclists *EVERY* *SINGLE* *DAY*.

For what it's worth, I'm going to continue spamming these issues, one for every truck I see parked in the bike lane in front of the NO STOPPING SIGN until the issue is resolved. Figure it out, or let someone get killed. You've just let someone get killed elsewhere in the city, so we already know you don't care about us, but at least have the decency to pretend?

Is there a way that we (the public) can review CPD's dispatch logs to see if anyone is ever actually getting ticketed here? Or if CPD officers ever show up on site? I stop and call every day I see a truck sitting here blocking the lane, but it's not helpful if CPD isn't acting on my reports.

I would suggest that you contact the police department directly with that question.

Just call the dispatcher, or is there a better contact? It's frustrating that the City doesn't have a single point of contact for information like this, though it explains why some of these issues are perpetually ongoing and never resolved.
