Not a DPW Control Box

I realize this, but it is in the green space, I have a photo I will send that shows the other side which is much worse and I have no idea who to contact. No one is taking responsibility. Can you please at least let us know who to contact?

Thank you for reporting this issue. It is not a Burl. Electric box. We believe it belongs to Fairpoint. I have forwarded the information to Fairpoint. We should hear back by Tuesday next week. I'll will update this issue ticket as I receive information.

I haven't heard back from anyone about this and the utility box is getting worse day by day. This photo was from July. I can promise you time hasn't helped.

take the tape off and throw it in the road. Someone from Fairpoint will have to deal with it then.

Just an update. Still no action. We are on a dead end so throwing it in the road would not annoy anyone other than neighbors.

Sent an update request to Fairpoint this AM. I will follow up with them. If no response I suggest that you call them directly. I will close out the ticket within 2 days if no response is received.

Hello Martha, This is the response I received from Fairpoint this morning:
"Cathy; I looked at this and it needs some engineering . The ped has a history of being hit by the parked cars. Replacing it would be good until the next snow storm when the plow hits it again. We will look at in warmer temps when we have options of moving the ped further away from the road."
It looks like it will remain this way until Spring when they can re-design the underground system and move the Pedestal.

While this is disappointing, at least there was a response. I am not sure what they mean by moving it back, and the idea that this was hit repeatedly by parked cars is really kind of ridiculous. The snow plow may be a bit more plausible, but the sidewalk plow is usually a bigger threat and that comes from the other side. I would love it if they would talk to the residents. I am also a bit pessimistic as this has already sat unattended to for at least one full year. Thank you so much for following up on this. I have, once again forwarded this over to Fairpoint. That is all I can do at this point. We do not have jurisdiction over their equipment.

Good morning,
I spoke with Fairpoint again this morning. They are going to make a temporary repair by installing a new enclosure within the next couple of days until the entire pedestal can be moved so it doesn't keep getting hit by vehicles. Hopefully by next winter the entire thing will be moved.
