Description
Resident driving dump truck on city streets and parking it at home. Street is getting torn up and sinking where he cranks the steering wheel to back in along side of his garage. The street has a 10,000 lb. weight limit and the truck is around 28,000 lbs.

After digging through the ordinances I find that there currently is an exception in the code allowing persons to drive and park heavy vehicles off-street in residential neighborhoods. My bad. The law is the law whether it makes sense or not. See the info below.
340.008 TRUCK ROUTES (1) Weight Limits and Heavy Traffic Routes (MC#832) (a) Operation of a Vehicle Whose Weight is in Excess of Five Tons. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any motor vehicle whose weight is in excess of five tons over any street in the City of Wisconsin Rapids, which is not a county trunk, state highway, or federal highway, or which is not designated as a truck route, except as follows. Note: Marked business routes of state highways are not truck routes. (1) Operating while actually engaged in deliveries or pickup to business or residence from the nearest designated truck route. (2) Going to or from the place the vehicle is kept by the owner and/or operator. The vehicle must be parked off-street. (3) Going to or from points within the city for purpose of having the vehicle serviced,

repaired, or while being tested. (4) When operating a truck which is customarily used to transport workmen or equipment and while being so used. Also: (f) Overnight Truck Parking. No trucks or trailers in excess of five tons capacity shall be parked within 175 feet of a residential zone between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., except as follows: (1) One semi-tractor, stake truck, or van, excluding semi-trailers, may be parked at the residence of the operator. On-street parking is prohibited. (MC#823) (2) No motors are left idling, including those necessary for air-conditioning and refrigeration units. (3) Trucks and trailers are parked in authorized areas and are not actively engaged in hook-up or loading activities during the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
