Description
Request changing signals on River Front Parkway at South Jordan Parkway (UT-151) to a three-way signal. This will improve safety and traffic flow.
1. Safety: At peak commute times, there is a long line of northbound cars turning left onto South Jordan Parkway. If a car from Mulligans arrives during that shared green light to go straight, that southbound car has the right of way BUT it cannot be seen due to (a) lowered elevation of the parking lot, and (b) the line of cars turning left blocks the view of subsequent drivers. I have seen a number of near-collisions at this intersection.
2. Traffic Flow: With a three-way signal, two lanes on River Front Parkway (left and middle) can be allowed to turn left. This will allow at least five more cars per light cycle, and possibly more. This change will reduce the time needed for the green light on River Front, and should lead to a net increase in green-light time for South Jordan Parkway.

Thank you for submitting your comment regarding the intersection of 10600 South/River Front Parkway. UDOT has held off on making any changes to this intersection right now, as there is a project underway to widen 10600 South, that will result in the redesign of the River Front Parkway intersection.
Thanks,
