Description
Traffic has become very heavy in this area over the last year. There is a blinking red light for Napier drivers to stop, this is causing a nearly 1/2 mile backup down Napier in both directions in both the AM and PM.
10 Mile drivers have no lights or turn lanes-Napier drivers crossing 10 Mile are playing chicken with cars, a 4 way stop or full on traffic light would make this a much safer and efficient intersection.

Thank you for your comment regarding the troublesome Napier and 10 mile intersection. This particular intersection has been in the process of being redesigned for a couple years now. The City of Novi, along with Lyon Township and the Road Commission for Oakland County have been working together to redesign and improve the intersection. As it stands now it will be reconstructed next summer. There is a significant amount of work that needs to take place to improve the safety of this intersection to include removing some structures that currently reside in that area. The current plans to improve the intersection will cost $6.1 million. As I stated earlier, there has been a lot of planning that has taken place to make this improvement happen. Unfortunately it took some time to identify the funding to make this necessary correction. But it will occur next construction season.
If you have any additional questions please let me know.
