I have not noticed any change in this. Also, the same phenomenon has developed on College St in front of the new Alexion building, where often trucks are standing in the bike lane, as if it is a delivery zone. These vehicles should be ticketed!!! Again, a highly trafficked street that is dangerous for bikers when swerving to miss the car or truck occupying the bike lane. It is SO GREAT to have these bike lanes. Can't we keep them for bikes?

I will not close this because nothing has been done to deter people parking in the lane. At 4pm it can be full of cars the entire block. How can we convince people that bike lanes are for bike traffic and not parked or standing cars, if there is no penalty?

I still want this to remain open. The most dangerous situation is cars pulled over in bike lanes either standing or dropping someone off, in which case bikers have to dodge moving car doors and people as well as the cars themselves. Often there is actually an empty parking space several feet away. People just do not think they need to get out of a bike lane if possible. This behavior should result in tickets!!!
I find the amount of parking that goes on in bike lanes really disturbing. It is a big problem still by the KofC building and in front of Alexion on College St. I would like to add that the Yale shuttle pulls over for its frequent stops within the bike lane. I am used to roads being an obstacle course for bikes, but I recently saw a police car pulled over and standing in a bike lane (in front of Alexion).

I would like to keep this open as a reminder of the general and dangerous behavior of delivery trucks and cars feeling like the bike lane is a great place to double park and/or pull over to pick up people on a busy street like Church St.

Is anybody reading this? What is the city doing to make bike lanes safe from people who think it is a convenient parking place?
