Description

Yet again, the dog next door has attacked a person and another dog. And yet again, the police will not come out and animal control will do nothing. Their solution is to write a witness report, get it notarized, and submit it for record. When the dog has 3 reports, it will be listed as dangerous and the owners will be required to house the dog in a certain manner. If the dog escapes and attacks again (God forbid a child) the owners will be fined. City of St. Pete, I beg you to do something. This is a public safety disaster waiting to happen! You will you be okay with someone's blood on your hands?!?!

This is not the format to threaten a city employee. If you are that upset try knocking on your neighbors door, but you get no where making threats about blood on an a city employees hands. How absurd.

another thing that worked for me was if they rent contact owner {PCPAO.org} and alert them. having a certain breed of dog on a premise causes higher insurance rates. the owner if insured will not allow it. Hope these ideas work for you. .Never punish the dog punish the owner.for it is the owner that makes the dog.

This city has lots of aggressive dogs. the city and county are afraid to approach these dogs owners. why should we? if the owner has a mean dog the owner probably has a gun .Do what I did call aspca in largo. they dont play with abusive dogs. They took care of my problem the second I called no forms. they walk right up to the owners door for an explanation. That is animal abuse letting a dog like that loose.It is not the employee they are following "PROTOCOL" Please call aspca or humane society our animal services is much to be desired. useless! I have said that for years.

I dont think the original poster was threatening anyone implying someone is threatening anyone is as you said "absurd." Again as you said this is not the forimbto even argue with you...

Agree with Phyllis this is the owners faukt not the dog but it doesnt change the fact is it a very dangerous situation that should be addressed...

This is a dangerous problem that needs to be taken more seriously. Im fearful to walk my dog and think "what if he gets out and attacks us."

Had a similar incident. Was being chased by a pit mix. Called Animal Control and because it was a Saturday, animal control wouldn't respond and referred me to St Pete PD. Called St Pete PD, who then referred me back to Animal Control. Guess dangerous, aggressive dogs get a free pass on the weekends. Eventually a bite or attack is going to happen that could have been prevented.

This is really a Pinellas County Animal Control issue and they ask that you fill out the witness report and one of the users stated. There is nothing SPPD can do. If non-emergency (727-893-7788) gets the call while the attack is occurring and the responding officer witnesses it, then they may be able to assist.

call aspca in largo. I never call animal services anymore. a wasted taxpayer monies if you ask me. we need to address this asap.
