Description

A traffic signal placed at New Forsyth Road and Bass Road that is coordinated with the traffic signals at Bass Road and I75N, Bass Road and I75S, Bass Road and Bowman Road, would help tremendously with morning school traffic into and out of ACE. Leaving ACE, a Right Turn only is allowed which puts you back on New Forsyth Road headed to Monroe County. Currently it is set up where after making the right turn onto New Forsyth Road, you then make a left turn to go through Bass Pro Shop road to come out at the traffic light by McDonalds. Turning Right onto Bass Road headed toward the interstate is congested but the traffic lights keep traffic moving. Unfortunately for me, I have to turn left at the traffic light at McDonalds because I work at 1738 Bass Road so I endure getting back into the traffic to go to the four way stop sign which adds about 15 minutes to a 3 minute route from ACE. I was hopeful that a traffic signal would be installed over the summer but school has started and now many parents and other people who are just passing through trying to get to work and other places, are stuck waiting. The afternoons are MUCH worse as there is no movement of the traffic until about 3:20 or so. I understand that things will begin flowing a bit smoother as the days go by and a routine is in place.
