Water main access nearby sewer manhole.

Howard County, please fix. This area in question is both a health and safety hazard. Those who have pets are well aware as well as those Neighbors in the community that are elderly how dangerous that particular walkway is. In the warm weather with the puddles , the mosquito infestation, the slick mud, and then in the winter months all of the ice that forms causing very slick walking .
The walkway has sagged over the years so much that one of my neighbors steps has sunk to the point where they practically need a ladder to climb up to their front door.
Please fix!!

Utilities has inspected the area and the county water and sewer lines are not a contributing factor. Turned back over to Highways.

I actually live in the townhouse where this issue is located. I can tell you when it rains, it is totally flooded very quickly. I'm very concerned for the winter time because this is located at the bottom of our steps. Any company that comes to the house or delivery people will needed to be aware of it or they could seriously injury themselves. I also have a puppy and I don't want him to hurt himself either. Please help get this fixed as soon as possible. It is in a very unconvient spot for no only myself and roommate, but many of the neighbors. This is an active neighborhood with animals and children. Let's get this fixed sooner rather then later!!!

Please explain how the sewer or water main cannot be a contributing factor when the bottom of the sunken area is exactly above or adjoining the sewer and the water main also passed under the sidewalk nearby? The sewer manhole located in the grass directly next to the sidewalk has sunken consistent with the adjoining sidewalk. If it is not related to the sewer, why has it also sunk when they are not directly connected? There have been a series of similar issues on our court at the location of sewer and water main manholes. Most of our sidewalk issues precisely coincide with the location of these lines, yet the county continues to refuse any responsibility. How? May I request a meeting with our homeowners and board at our next meeting? Could the county bring maps to support their contention that these just happen to be highly coincidental and entirely unrelated, and address community questions and concerns?

Please advise status. This is sitting for more than a week. The community, having watched the deterioration of this section of sidewalk above the sewer questions (does not accept) the opinion of Utilities. Do we have to resubmit? Can we meet an inspector or supervisor on site with maps, equipment, etc., proof that the sewer and/or water main are not a contributing factor? Is it entirely coincidental that only this section of sidewalk in our community, over this sewer, is sinking to an extent that the adjoining homes front steps have also sunk substantially? This has created a safety hazard for our neighborhood. Please advise next step.

Work order # 235925 has been opened to TV (camera) the sewer main and the manholes. This request has also been turned over to Highways to inspect the storm drains. During normal hours Mon – Fri, 8 am to 5 pm call 410-313-4900 and reference the work order number for current status.
