Description

OK, follow me here...
When waiting to turn left onto Sterling Dr. from 309 N, the traffic signal for southbound 309 traffic becomes red in order to allow the car that's waiting to make the turn onto Sterling, once given the green arrow to do so. At that moment, when the southbound traffic is given the red light, the traffic lights for northbound traffic turns yellow, then red for barely a second - before turning green for northbound traffic to continue heading straight (while the car with the green arrow is permitted to make the left turn).
The brief red light is a nuisance and interferes with the flow of traffic heading north past sterling drive. For cars in motion heading northbound on 309, approaching the light while cars ahead are stopping could potentially cause an accident.
Please investigate this problem, and observe how it functions to develop a solution that doesn't impede northbound 309 traffic in this area, especially when traffic is fairly heavy.
Thanks.
