Description
We have been having a noise issue with a manhole cover over the past few months, which our neighbor has sent emails about. It has been looked at and the men have tried to fix it, which we appreciate, but lately it has become worse and has gone beyond the noise issue. I am concerned after seeing on the news the past few months of manhole covers flying off and causing damage and deaths. Each time a car travels over the manhole cover there is a loud thumping noise and I'm concerned that there may be a time when a car hits it just right and may be going a bit over the speed limit and it comes flying off and damages the homes nearby, ours and our neighbors or worse, someone gets hurt badly or dies. I don't take this matter lightly and I don't want anything to happen but there is always that one time. Would it be possible to spot weld the manhole cover for safety reasons or try to find a way to have the cover sit safely at its spot in the street. We all appreciate your efforts in making our street safe for all. Thank you. Susan Pfeifer

Good afternoon Susan,
I'm glad that you are satisfied with the work being completed, however upon further inspection of the repaired ring, I was not satisfied that the longevity of the repair would be very long. Therefore, myself and a crew of guys will be out first thing tomorrow morning to "jack out" the old ring and cover, and permanently cement and new in its place! Thank you for remaining on top of this, and hopefully this will be the final repair made to this issue!
