How about instead of wasting money on a hov highway you carpool and eliminate a vehicle or 2 from the traffic problem!!! The lights were put in for a reason how would you feel trying to get out of a shopping center or neighborhood through that stretch with out the traffic signal there!

Agree. Either remove some the traffic lights or time the lights so the traffic flows better. These lights cause too much congestion.

Timing the lights would help a great deal and would probably be a cheap fix.

People who travel on Rt 17 are notorious for blocking traffic in the left "passing" lane! This includes YC Sheriff's vehicles who should be setting an example by obeying the laws! Drive in the right lane if you are not passing, please.

I find that Jefferson Ave moves much faster than Rt 17 in YC, because it's been widened to 4 lanes AND it has considerably fewer traffic lights.

Has VDOT fixed this. If they have not fixed this you might want to call them directly. VDOT chooses not to monitor this site. If this has been fixed please take the time to close things that you open.

please remember that the citizens voted to cut landscape funding. there are only 3 workers to do the job of 72 just a few years ago. Citizens wanted to keep trash pick ups, police and fire services, and public works. landscape maintaince funding had to be cut. how do I know this? I read the paper, I get involved with my community, I practice Santeria. This is not uncommon in this region. Public works cleans up after severe storms. They need the funding
