This light blue 3 family I guess has been a drug/prostitute house the entire 5 years that I lived nearby. There is someone selling drugs or sex there all the time. The whole neighborhood knows about it because the prostitutes are loud and people get shot there consistently. You would think that it was legal because they don't try to hide it. I have heard gunfire from outside of this house countless times. The day I moved out my neighbor and I heard what sounded like a machine gun coming from behind this house. I don't understand why the cops aren't arresting the dealers/hookers and kicking them out of the neighborhood. That one house is the worst one on that block and drags down the whole neighborhood. And while you are there, put a garbage can out on each of those corners so that the street isn't filled with trash.

I hear from neighbors that the prostitution/crack selling is WAY WORSE now. There are more hookers/dealers and they are out in the DAYTIME now. If these sleuth cops want to catch someone here's what you do: pull over near that house. A hooker will come up to your car. That happened to my FRIENDS all the time. DRIVE BY at night; guess what you'll see. Hookers, pimps, and dealers. I moved to a richer neighborhood and guess what- I complained once about a pothole and they fixed the problem immediately. Crackheads and pimps walking around where kids live? Well I guess a pothole in East rock is more important....PS I know several Yalies who live very close to the hooker house. Do you care now?

I'm really bummed about this. Police say they are doing everything they can and that we need to help them more by reporting things. I get optimistic when I hear that, then you hear a story like this, regularly, about the pot hole vs the gunfire and you know that cops are blowing off the house on Winthrop.

Not sure that house is in Hassett's territory, could it be in the territory of the substation on whalley and norton? Hasset's district ends at sherman and edgewood, doesn't it?

Hassett blew off another report a few weeks ago really near this. Too many cops really don't want to work.

The only time I ever saw the PD move fast on problem houses like this is right after Billy White was arrested and federal agents were combing through police headquarters. After that for about a year they were gung-ho. They could and did shut down houses like that in days.

When you see that, it really causes resentment because you suddenly realize PD has been stringing you along for a year for no reason, just because they are lazy.
