Description
The Pedestrian sign in the street here is torn out and rendered useless. This is one of the most dangerous crosswalks around here in my opinion, perhaps because the drivers are not aware they're in a pedestrian area. And there don't seem to be any repercussions for not stopping at crosswalks, no law enforcement of this issue that I've ever seen. I've been called a colorful glossary of Nee Jersey terms for exercising my right to cross the street here. Please, we need the sign here especially. Thanks!

are overly concerned about making "good time" on their commute. I've also had trouble crossing Marin at Morgan for the same reason, because people turning north are jockeying for position with the vehicle opposite them. I can't assert my right to cross on weekdays, though, because I'm pushing a stroller with my infant child, which for the record doesn't seem to change the behavior of the drivers.

I saw two broken signs on the sidewalk. It pretty much tells the same story you do that it's a consistent problem. I would say the issue in the original description closes this particular issue which is why I commented.
I hate crossing that intersection as well and am sure that trucks hit those signs several times a day without even noticing. It's a four lane double yellow line road. Another solution may be to paint the road or the flashing pedestrian lights. The drivers are perfectly aware of the laws, they just choose to ignore them.

Due to the winter season, pedestrian crosswalk signs have been removed from the Jersey City streets in the anticipation of snow fall this season.
Therefore, all requests for pedestrian crosswalk signs will resume in the spring season.
