Why did the City of MB post "No Parking 2AM to 6AM" along parts of Howard & all of Reed Avenues in the Market Common?
I see 2 reason why they should not:
a) it is a deterrent to someones decision to take a cab home after a evening at the local establishments.
b) it makes a less safe situation for a resident who arrives home after 2AM and is force to park further away from their apartment entrance.
Word has it that the Town Center Management and the City claim the signs were installed to accommodate street cleaning. If this was true all the streets in the Market Common would be posted. In reality the problem is that residents and retail staff are parking all day in these spots. I believe the correct solution is to have 2 or 3 hour restricted parking between 10AM and 8 PM, so that the retail shoppers can have convenient access to the stores.

So 5.5 years later the city finally decides to install a 4 way stop sign at Hackler & Howard and partially lower speed limits to 25 (not 15 as it should be similar to stretch between Nevers and Reed). They only did this after quieting one new tenant who wanted a cross walk across mid block between Howard and Iris!
So maybe it will take another 5.5 years to justify the change of the no parking signs 2 am to 6 am! Or perhaps when we all realize the MC is only immune to real crime REPORTING by the press. I hope it does not take a serious incident to enlighten the decision makers!
