OK..so the signs are posted on Preakness Ave that its going to be fixed..BUT..they've been there for a few weeks now..no date assigned. Are they really coming back???
Preakness Ave in Wayne is a great road to travel if you wanted to go off road 4 wheel driving. The bumps & pot holes are killing our cars. We should be able to go after the town for every flat tire, bent rim, and out of alignment issue we are having with our cars. For those of us that live off of this street it is a constant nightmare because there is no other way to get home. Please sign this so that maybe they will fix it instead of riping up more roads that are in better condition

I was on it last week. Its got potholes from LAST year on it. I thought my axle broke at one point on that road, made a loud CLANK! They just dont care, Dawn. They know about all the problems, supposedly the mayor gets these notifications and they still just dont care. Ive been on this site for other towns, and I have even reported potholes to the State DOT on highways and every one I reported was fixed within about a week! Wayne, however doesn't care. Hopefully no one gets into a serious accident because of these potholes. And if someone should, they still wont care. Stay off of Jackson Ave too.......

Both Preakness and Jackson are Passaic County roads, not Wayne roads. You can report it at http://passaiccountynj.org/Roads/Report_Pothole.htm

Yeah, I know, but they still should do something about it. I am well aware of which roads belong to the county, but they should be more proactive about pushing the issue. With all the money that Wayne has to give to the County, they shouldn't be so laid back about something as dangerous as this. Besides that, are Indian Road and Hinchman Ave county roads? No, and they havent done anything about them either... Rode on Indian today, still has potholes. On Hinchman, they filled some, and left some unfilled as of Saturday.

I agree. The county should be pressured. For reasons unknown (and to the chagrin of tourist map readers), Passaic County doesn't sign their road like other counties do (except for self-congratulatory billboards when they're being paved). Several years ago, Wayne posted signs saying "Passaic County Road" on some of them. Perhaps that was an effort to embarrass the county to make improvements. Seems like a good tool for persuasion.

I remember those signs. They should put those signs up again and deduct the cost from their tax payments to the county. Or withold payment all together until something is done with these dangerous (no exaggeration) roads.

I sent in claims to Passaic County and got some BS response saying because they did not know about it, they are not at fault. I cracked my $1500 wheels and blew out 2 tires. It really is dangerous and unsafe for the county of Passaic. I sent letters to a supervisor, a Jack Nigro. He did nothing. This is where our tax dollars go.

I blew a tire and rim out on Hamburg Tpke. They mailed me a form and it said to submit a picture of the pothole. Of course when I went to take the pic it was filled in. County said the same thing to me... Excuses.
