Description

The "Big belly" Solar powered trash receptical at the NW corner of Lark Stredet and Washington Ave must have a faulty lock. The trrash deposited at that site has been spilled out on the sidewalk for at least the last 4 weeks, on and off. I would expect that the lark St or Central Ave BID people would have reported this, or the street cleaner/vacuum person employed by the Central Avenue BID. However, nothing has happended to fix or replace the bin. All that appears to be needed is a new bin or a lock repair. The trash is probably pulled out and picked through by deposit bottle scavengers, or by obnoxious drunks or kids. It is a very poor image at one of the most prominent intersections in Albany. Let's get a repaired or new bin there ASAP (and how about getting the BIDs to be more pro-active and vigilant??)
