ILLEGAL PARKING In R-Line Stop R17 No Parking Zone on Saturday
Today when I went to get on the R-Line at Stop R17
there was two parked cars in the No Parking - Bus Zone
I talked to the R-LINE driver and he said this is a rampant problem on Saturdays, could the Raleigh Police Department step up enforcement by ticketing these illegaly parked vehicles on Saturdays ?!

This was during the middle of the day (9am - 1pm)
Perhaps if The city of Raleigh city manager would watch
Parking Wars on Hulu.com
To see how Parking Enforcement (in this case Philadelphia) is done
Ie I suggest that the city of Raleigh send someone up to Philadelphia
to learn from them and thus start a Philadelphia style Parking Enforcement
CRACKDOWN in Raleigh

I wish the City Parking Enforcement would crack down on people like this that park in the illegal zones excessively versus praying on those who pay good money to park in a spot and are 30 seconds late to return to their car. I mean the people from ParkLink are just rude and unreasonable. And yet, people who blatantly break the rules are overlooked. ParkLink staff hang around the parking machines to wait for that second and bam a ticket is written. This is one reason why a lot of peopple don't like coming downtown. If the City of Raleigh wants people to come downtown to shop during the day or go out to eat, it has to be more welcoming. I have never got a ticket, but I was with a girlfriend who did, we were less than 1 minute returning back to the car, and the ParkLink metermaid was RUDE and unreasonable. And then it's a waste of time to contest it. A fine for parking for being less than 1 MINUTE late returning to the car.
The CIty should be spending their time watching all these people in their handicap placards who get out and dance up this sidewalk without a care in the world.

Part of the problem here is the no parking signs are wrong...
At the R-Line City Market Stop (R-17), the No Parking Signs are labeled for no parking 6PM-6AM.
The R-Line previously served this stop only at night, but in October the R-Line was rerouted to serve this stop all day.
So, the no parking sings should be adjusted to say No Parking ANYTIME.
Thank you!
