Description

I have been a residence in the City of Everett. I love where I live and think that is a great place to live. I want to bring up an issue that I brought up a little over a month ago. And that is the completion of the park on Chelsea Street going under renovation. It has taken way too long for this park to get completed. I am disappointed that this summer the residents that live in the area was not able to enjoy the park this summer. A park that from what I remember of me living in Everett. would be full with families with their kids. I witness a few weeks ago a family that went with their kids to the old play structure. They were told to leave because park is closed to public because of renovation. It saddened me seeing the family leaving the park with their kids.

From my previous request for the park to be more of a priority and was told that by the end of September it would have been finished, and honestly, I do not see this being completed any time soon. Just now, as i came home, saw a young person under the age of 10 going to play at the old play structure...

Please give something for these kids to go to and burn some energy and to use their creativity, I think is an excellence alternative to tv and computers...

When will the park be completed?

... After the Winter, we would expect and hope to see a completed park... Yet, it is a month into the Spring and no signs of a completed park... What shall I see... Still disappointed... If I calculate right, it has taken almost 2 years to complete this job... Families anxiously waiting to take their kids to park, had to sneak on in, to the park, even though it is still close due to unfinished park. I would hate to see that we would go another summer without a park for our residence...
