Description
New Street Lights do not conform to Agoura Plan
See Agoura Village Specific Plan Chapter 5 LIGHTING nor Does the Light Fixtures comport to the Agoura Village Plan VILLAGE CONCEPT PLAN in relation to Agoura sensibility to surroundings and SENSE OF PLACE
Further their are over 40 new Street Posts in one block that are dangerous to motorists, in violation of the AGOURA VILLAGE Chapter 5 Outline for the lights and are an eyesore, over built, so bright that they are in violation of some AGOURA MUNICIPAL CODES 9288.2. - Exterior illumination
All exterior lights shall be directed down and away from adjacent property.
9393.15. - Same—Lighting.
All lighting fixtures shall be located so as to shield direct rays from adjoining properties. Luminaries shall be of a low level, indirect diffused type and shall not exceed the height of the building.
There are over 80 bright NON DIFFUSED LIGHTING BULBS THAT ILLUMINATE OUT SO BRIGHT THAT I FEEL THAT I AM IN A PRISON YARD IN COMPLETE VIOLATION OF THE AGOURA VILLAGE PLAN ITSELF AS WELL AS THE MUNICIPAL CODE
Assuming that these lights conform It is such a complete eyesore that they should be replaced with downward and diffused or alternative lighting
PLEASE CORRECT THIS REPLACE THE LIGHTING STRUCTURES TO CONFORM TO THE OTHER LIGHTING STURCTURES ALONG AGOURA ROAD WEST OF KANAN
this attached photo is a view of what a driver sees heading west from Padris as of last week IT IS AWFUL AND AN EYESORE
I DEMAND THIS BE PLACED ON CITY COUNCIL AGENDA AND THIS REMEDIED IMMEDIATELY

I believe the lighting is EXEMPLARY as it provides enough lighting for pedestrians and bicylists.
Also given the fact that this area has a late crowd scene (theater, restaurants, bars) it is IMPERATIVE the lighting is good as it is for personal safety reasons from vandals and for drivers to more easily see and not run over people crossing the street.
I say we please keep them as they are.

As homeowners if we put up exterior lighting that was in violation, we would have to rectify the situation.

Lighting The street and pedestrian lighting concept allows for two separate types of lighting fixtures for the Village area. One lighting standard should be used for the roadways and one standard for the sidewalk areas.
• Lighting, fixtures shall incorporate the latest energy-efficient technology for directing light and reducing glare.
• Consider the following factors to reduce light pollution:
(1) The wattage or brightness of the light;
(2) The installation of the fixture and use of shields to minimize light spill;
(3) The type of light - sodium amber lights are softer than metal halide type; and
(4) Placing lights on timers or motion sensors to limit their on-time, as appropriate.
Street lighting Streetlights shall incorporate a decorative light pole and luminare that is consistent in design to help unify the streetscape within the Village.
• Streetlighting shall be Boulevard D650 from Sternberg Lighting located pursuant to engineering recommendations. Pedestrian Lighting • Pedestrian lighting shall be Sternberg Vintage Lighting - ‘Prairie’, Model #1230 with square pole.
• These fixtures shall accommodate banner attachment arms, planter arms and electrical outlets.
• Public sidewalk lights shall be approximately 15 feet in height and placed approximately
