Description

I received a parking violation for being parked facing the wrong way in a handicap space. The only reason why I was parked that way is because the unload area for my ramp had grass and trees. I couldn't unload there. $39 ticket. Something needs to changed. The way it is setup it doesn't meet ADA requirements. If I need to report it I will.

Here is a picture. You can see the unload area is all grass, there is a tree and a pole. This makes unloading from my van difficult and getting my wheelchair through it hard. My ramp comes out of the passenger side. The address on the violation is 600 1 ST S. I'm not sure if they got it wrong.

Not sure why the picture was rotated. I'll try again. Here is the citation number 100906504. You can check the address on it. I couldn't find it on google maps.

Update from Parking Services: The City would be willing to attempt to pour a pad there, if deemed feasible between the curb and the sidewalk as an improvement. Having a landing pad next to on-street parallel spaces was not a requirement at the time the space was built. Thanks, Mayor's Action Center
