as most people know who drive thru ridgecrest drive, there are new stop signs installed to slow people down, except they don`t stop. but they slow down. we could use the same deterrant on Burke Dr. A.K.A. Burke SPEEDWAY. someone tried to knock the "YOUR SPEED" sign over, but the CITY Was ever vigilant to straighten it as soon as possible. If we could only have the SAME Response to speeders on Burke Drive.

now it's over 2 months, still no action,

almost 3 months, just a lot of lip service

To you: User 1318324 Officers are currently assigned and have been in this area multiple times patrolling and conducting traffic enforcement. Supervisors have also been monitoring these said violations but they have minimal contact with traffic violators. Please give us information regarding vehicle colors, time of day/night violations occurring the most, and what part of the street as Burke has several intersections. This will assist us in our efforts to narrow down the problem in order to help folks such as yourself and others. Without this information our efforts become fruitless. If no further information can be given this issue will be closed soon but it will remain with our Officers to continue to enforce traffic violations in that area when they can. Officers have been able to cite a few violators up to this point. Thank you in advance.

BURKE SPEEDWAY BEGINS AT AZTEC AVE. & GOES SOUTH ALL THE WAY TO UTAH CIRCLE. THE ONLY REASON TO SLOW DOWN IS THE CURVE GOING EAST

I am not sure what the city is asking for, vehicle colors range from white to black, the intersection of Burke & Mesa is where I see these vehicles, ranging from U.P.S. trucks to motorcycles trying to get somewhere really quick @ all hours of the day.

I watched a Gallup police officer parked @ mesa & burke 5/13/17 from about 12 pm to 12:30, 2 or 3 vehicles went pass and didn't stop at the stop sign. several vehicles went by well over the speed limit. Maybe he was just monitoring the area. kinda like those commercials, i'm not a police officer, i'm a monitor.

SO WHAT CAN BE DONE? MR. KUMAR HAS BEEN BY THIS AREA BEFORE, I GUESS HIS HANDS ARE TIED, MAYBE THE MAYOR OR CHIEF OF POLICE COULD DROP BY AND WATCH THE VEHICLES FLY BY.

He's to busy watching over his hotels

We have increased our traffic enforcement in this area to help alleviate the speeding in this area. An operation was conducted with results of 20 vehicles counted with 1 stop sign citation and 2 other violations. As we are all aware this will be an on-going issue as we cannot be at this location at all times, but will do our best to try and minimize the speeding.
