We receive complaints, among many surrounding municipalities, all the time about the newspaper advertisements that are thrown in driveways and recently were given the following information regarding a phone number you can call to stop delivery from the Detroit Free Press being 800-395-3300. If they are the Oakland Press of Daily Tribune you should call Customer Service at 888-977-3677 or Angela Cremeans at 248-284-1428.

My neighbor who is a fairly young man spent Christmas in ICU with a blood clot. I was informed by the neighbor in between him and I that he sucked up one of the pink plastic packages with his snow blower and spent nearly an hour clearing the jammed mess to free it for use.
I did call all of the numbers listed above and told them I am sick of them hitting my vehicles and in no way asked for delivery. I had to leave voice mail for MS. Cremeans which was not responded to. I can gladly say that I did not get the pink bag when my neighbors did just before the last snowstorm..
I still think the City of Clawson should join in a class action suit with South Oakland cities and fight for the taxpayers. I suspect the $100,000 stinging they got from Viacom over an unwanted billboard is influencing that possibility. How does freedom of speech give them the right to trash our yards and damage our vehicles under the cover of darkness at 3:00am?
We now have an OBSOLETE ordinance on the books that specifically addresses this situation.

I can say that calling; 800-395-3300 (Free Press) seems to have been effective; or was it me giving their advertisers a taste of what they've been dishing out?
At this time I wish to thank all City officials who were involved in responding to my issue. For over one month the papers have stopped, so I am satisfied. Therefore, I will close the issue that II opened 11/23/2016
