There is no "more detailed description of action taken by staff" given here. Has anything been done? I went by the location and the cables still seem to cut low over the public sidewalk. Why was this item closed now after more than a six month wait? There was another similar See Click Fixit item that was closed a few weeks ago with a promise that the matter was being referred to DTE and that we'd be kept informed of progress. Is that the situation here? It would be appreciated if the City would not close items such as this without a more detailed explanation when the problem has not been fixed.

Any progress on this? I walked by this location and the guy wire is still there and still very low (about 5', I'd guess) over the sidewalk. Here is a recent photo:
I decided not to wait for the City to respond and called AT&T directly. They said that they would send someone out to look at it today. The confirmation number is PU2F8A05. The AT&T phone number that I called was 1-800-246-8464. I pressed "8" to report a problem with AT&T equipment or facilities.
Just got a call back from an AT&T lineman. While the pole belongs to AT&T, the low guy wire was installed by McCloud Communications. McCloud Communications went out of business and its assets were purchased by PAETEC Holding Corp. which is a subsidiary of Windstream Communications. The phone number for Windstream is 800-332-2385. I'll call them now.
I just spoke to Gail at Windstream. They will send someone out to check. She give me a new number to call if something doesn't happen within a few days: 800-289-1901.
Dang, Jeff. Next time they close one of my issues without doing anything, telling me it has been "acknowledged and/or addressed to the best of staff's ability...," I'm going to say, "Yes, but what about to the best of JEFF'S ability?" Getting things done!
Jeff: You are to be commended for your persistence and investigation work ! Thank you. Someone at city hall needs to find out which personnel are consistently closing reported issues with no info or explanation whatsoever. Infuriating !

As of mid-afternoon on December 25th this issue had not been addressed. The guy wire still cuts low over the sidewalk, well below the 8 foot legal requirement. It still needs to be fixed. Why was this issue closed? Why was this issue closed without any explanation?

I just called Windstream at 800-345-4484. They said that they would pass the information on to their Locate Group who would look into it. The phone number for the Locate Group is 800-289-1904.
This issue was fixed a week or two ago. The guy wire that cut low across the sidewalk was removed. I assume that this was done by Windstream, but I'm am not certain. There were 5 guy wires on that pole, so there are four left to keep the pole standing straight. Seems like a good solution to me. I think that this issue can now be closed.
