Description
When the dart light rail was added crossing Forest Ln, utility construction crews tore up the sidewalk on both sides of Forest Ln at the crossing point and never repaired / replaced very large sections of the sidewalk. It is a hazard to pedestrians trying to walk to or from the light rail station at Forest / Jupiter (the very people that the light rail line was built to support). It gets very muddy when it rains as it is just fill dirt used in construction to fill in the holes they dug to move utilities.

On 30973 and 30972, City of Garland Engineering AND DART were both contacted on April 13th.
The two requests are being investigated. Sorry for the delay.

A GP&L construction supervisor inspected the site and determined that GP&L is not connected to the removal of or damage to this sidewalk.
Please contact Jay Altom at DART or pcole@dart.org.

This is a case of fixing things for those that can't fix it for themselves. The people most affected by the problem are the ones with no voice. Do you think the single mom pushing a stroller through this mess really has the time to petition Dart to fix their mess?
I've made no head way trying to contact DART about this issue. They're a brick wall. They're likely well aware of the issue, and have no intention of spending money to fix something they didn't do right the first time.

One cannot assume it is possible or safe for local residents. My point is that it seems to put the burden on the citizen where as a staff person could say,' while not in our area , these are the calls I am making to find a solution".
