The City of Ann Arbor is responsible for the maintenance of approximately 200 miles of residential streets.Residential streets are not typically started until the event accumulation has ceased, but we may at times start after the event is significantly completed. Plowing all residential streets takes a minimum of 24 hours to complete for a 4 inch accumulation.
Winter maintenance operations will be conducted based on a priority system established on the City and State Trunkline roads. The priorities primarily have been established based on traffic volumes.
Priority 1 - State Trunklines
Priority 2 - High volume hard surface roads
Priority 3 - Medium volume hard surface roads
Priority 4 - Subdivision streets
Priority 5 - Gravel roads, alleys, dead ends and Cul-De-Sacs
If you feel your street has been missed after allowing the minimum 24hrs from accumulation end to pass please submit a new request.

I don't understand why Washington *east* of 7th Street gets plowed down to bare road, but you don't give the same treatment to Washington *west* of 7th. As others have mentioned, this road is very heavily traveled with cars dropping off students. Many of them are fishtailing because the surface is like cornstarch at this point.
Also, I noticed that Brooks and Red Oak (near Mack School) are also clear to bare road; makes me wonder why some residential streets get cleared thoroughly but others don't.
