I'll call the NH police but I have in the past but nothing was done. Seeing how this is an ongoing constant problem, I think the city needs to do more, like paint no parking lines as I've suggested.

The police wont come out for a parking violation. They seem to think they are above that

Another night and new cars are blocking the driveways across the street from Hill house on Crescent. I will call the police again like I did yesterday. However this does not resolve the ongoing nuisance as the cars seem to be from out of town for high school events and not frequent users of the streets. I again request a commitment from the city to paint lines in front of the driveways come spring.

Insist on a supervisor when calling PD and speak with your district manager.

If that doesn't work just back into the car or drive down the sidewalk. lets see if the PD shows up then. Remember the Police do nothing to PREVENT issues they are only reactionary.

I believe you live in the Beaver Hill section of New Haven. Your Police District Manager and your Alders (Brian Wingate and Jill Marks) regularly attend your Beaver Hill Community Management Team meetings which meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m at the Beaver Hill Substation, located on 332 Whalley Ave in front of Minores. You should go there and voice your concerns to not only your Alders but to your Police District Manager. That is what these meetings are for and that is what your public officials are there for. We have this problem often in my neighborhood but it is mostly the residents who obstruct driveway as we have more cars then off street parking. However, our District Manager has been very responsive (once we let him know of the problem) and the NHPD responds promptly if there are not other high priority calls. They will issue a ticket and have the vehicle towed if it is obstructing a driveway. Unfortunately your problem cars are more transient and will most likely be an 'ongoing problem'. But bring it to the attention of your District Manager and Alders and press THEM for a resolution. Good luck.

Don't waste your time at these meetings unless you liked to be yessed and dismissed. The DM is NOT responsive, he's polite enough, but will not do anything about parking matters. Real Problem is when you call dispatch they will tell you the PD does not respond to these types of complaints and then you have to argue with them.. if they do show up, they don't have tickets with them....Forget the Alders their worse than the PD. Has any Alder ever called anyone back??? I have never had an Alder call me back other than Jorge Perez in the last 5 years. I politely leave my name number and reason for call and NOTHING. Been there done that for 20 years.
