We missed our trash pick up too. Usually a Tuesday pick up, didnt put it out because we thought it was delayed. A little late to receive at call at 4:30pm on tuesday saying it was normal trash schedule. What the heck! I will put out my trash tonight and hope they come pick it up tomorrow due to the cities lacknof communication. We are on the Peabody line too....witchcraft elementary school area

It was clear as day on the calendar that the City mailed to residents that trash was going to be picked up on a regular schedule. And the City's website posts the same calendar.

The colors refer to recycling, look again the week starts with a YELLOW box which means holiday on the calendar.

Doesn't change the fact that the city messed up and sent out the message to late to all the people that have monday or tuesday pick up. That call should have gone out over the weekend and then all residents would have been aware that pick up was on their normal day.
City's mistake, they should pick up all trash that was missed because of their mistake.

The schedule on the website shows Sunday, the first day of their week, as yellow (all yellow days are holidays).
In the description under Holidays is says "collection will be delayed by one day if your collection day falls on or after a holiday. See holidays marked in yellow."

Based on this, trash schedule for the week should have been delayed by one day according to what is written.

I'm in another part of Salem and there was another issue on this exact same subject. I'm on the list to have my trash and recycling picked up because of this error, however as of this hour, WM has yet to appear.

My recycling was picked up at 4:30 pm today. Still waiting for trash pickup.

Contacted WM, the employee that answered the phone stated Monday was not a holiday for them. They are not the government and responsible for any information on the calendars. They were already on our street this week and are not picking up our trash until next week. Our issue is with the city not them. Therefore, looks like the only ones that loose are us. Not only did they change our trash days from Thursday's to Tuesday's now we have issues with it getting picked up again.

As someone that criticizes the city on a regular basis, I have to say the 2016 schedule correctly shows regular pickup for the week of Christmas. Sunday was the holiday and no one has pickup on Sunday therefore no delay for the day after the holiday. If your trash did not get picked up it's your fault not the city. As for the robo calls, that's another separate issue. I got 1 call , in Spanish , late Tuesday. I don't speak Spanish. If I were WM I would not come back and pick up the owners mistake and considering all the issues on here I might even try to dump Salem as a customer.
