This has been like this for years not months. It's been reported in the past and nothing has changed and they close it. It needs to be torn down. The holes in the roof have been there forever. Can someone other than R. H come out and take a look. I've seen houses in better shape be torn down and this one is half way down. Really

12/30/16 *Update - (Bldg. Dept.) personnel was out there today. The premises were cleaned up. We will continue to pursue this complaint, as we would any complaint in the order with which it was received.

R.H must've called up the home owner to let him know there was a complaint. Where are the permits? This should've been done a few years back so you are absolutely correct about the order in which it should've been done. Why do you keep giving this slum lord chances. Wonder why the city looks the way it does. Let's drag it out another few years. It should be torn down

This game has been played for the entire time I've lived in the city. Extension. Extension, Extension. This is how slum lords roll, I've seen it time and time again. I've got a record from code back in 1999 from a property on Louisiana Ave NW. Same thing extensions for compliance for code issues. Landlord blamed tenant, but he was the one who rented to her. This record must have been 100 pages of code issues and inspections some of which landlord never showed up for. What does this say? Now the house is an empty lot, Atleast it's gone now but it cost Canton a great deal of time and money!

Will you be conducting inspections on the interior work?

Keep in mind, many landlords monitor this website and act on complaints as you report them. This property is in the NIP3 Program through the SCLB and must be brought up to IPMC Code Compliance (Inside/Out) to be removed from the Program. The Mayor has instructed Code Officers that there are no extensions unless progress on problem properties can be documented. Thanks to everyone for being the eyes and the ears on properties such as this. Keep up the good work.

So this particular landlord has done jail time over this house because he wasn't complying with the city. But let's keep giving him extensions. If you haven't noticed he doesn't do anything until he gets wind. If someone didn't take a picture and put it on this sight, his mess would still be laying there. He did a little work and it will now sit for who knows how long untouched. Then he will be given more extensions. Tear it down

Concerned and Rae, how about your addresses so code can look at your houses and see if you're as wonderful as you think you are.

They have already been by my properties and there have been no violations and are you a home owner and care about your neighborhood. If your house looks anything like that than they should come give you a violation. Oh you are probably renting from this landlord. I see. Would you rent that?

Yes, the local Canton slumlords seem to be buddies with the same dept. that is tasked with monitoring and fining them for constant, repeated violations.
They can expect endless extensions and maybe a slap on the wrist for the thousandth violation.

There was definitely an oversight when the house next door was torn down. This house has been an eye sore for years.

I take pride in where I live and care about the neighborhood. I keep up on my properties and even clean up after the people that don't give a damn about where they live. All this landlord is doing is running our city into the dump. Obviously you don't know what this landlord is about or maybe you do and that's why you are on here trying to defend him. Have you seen this dump. I would hate to see what you live in.

He has more than 1 LLC. He changes it all the time and puts them in other people's names. His family is in on it and his attorney. It's ridiculous. He's a piece of work. It's pretty sad that the city of canton which has so many issues in canton and have let these slumlords run canton to the ground. But it's sad that they have to keep babysitting him. You think they'd get tired of it. They all need torn down. Have you seen this house on Oxford. It's had holes in the roof for years and it rains and everything in it. He will put some shingles on it and throw someone in it next week. That's how he does his business. But this house is a disaster. Just tear it down.

I looked at auditors website and all his properties did the same, all early December.
I agree that it is time to get tough with these slumlords and those who represent them.

He has a friend that works for the city but I won't mention any names but it seems like when he goes to check on this slumlords properties. Everything looks ok. Louisville wouldn't allow this person to do this there. Neither would any city around us. Canton allows it. I'm tired of looking at all his trash. Let's do something about it

Don't forget the uncollected taxes multiplied by the number of properties a landlord holds. It's no wonder city services are lacking.
Time to expose these slumlords who are hiding behind LLC's.
