  Thank you for bringing the drainage issue up. Issue ID: 3130927 I have reported this problem when the pilot project was just being initiated and I had hoped something had been done about it. If a person is walking on the sidewalk and a car hits the puddle, that person will get soaked. I have seen it happen to people on multiple occasions.

  Yeah, this drainage issue creates a safety problem for all road users. Bikes have to merge with traffic to avoid getting soaked (or crashing on ice), pedestrians get soaked when cars drive through the massive puddles. There are a few other sections of the avenue with the same issue, but this section is definitely the worst.

  I hope DPW does not expend energy or resources responding to this issue. Repeated trivial complaints such as this discredit the credibility of the cycling community.

  "Common Sense;" the cycling community? What about the pedestrians getting hosed down by oily salt water? Why would you not want to fix a drainage issue that will damage the road?

  This section of road was so badly degraded that it had to be repaved. Without fixing the drainage issue, the pavement here and in other places that don't drain on the avenue will continue to deteriorate. After the freeze last night, there are now big sections of ice up and down the avenue. Long term, the City needs to rework the drainage to prevent water from pooling next to the curb.

  Its embarrassing that DPW moved forward with the pilot program and approved the bike lanes with the poor drainage on North Ave. Should of been addressed prior to the pilot project.

  This drainage (or lack of) continues to be an issue. Please make sure that when North Ave is paved this summer that the contractor addresses this and other spots on North Ave where pooling near the curb is a constant problem. We've got one opportunity to fix this!
