Description

The stoplight at the intersection of W 18th st, Stone and 6th Avenue does not change its signal when cyclists are present at this intersection. Several times, I have pulled up along 18th street (a city bicycle route) and waited over three minutes for the light to change to green despite several cycles of greens for the traffic on Stone and 6th. The only thing that gets the light to change is either by getting off one's bicycle and walking up on to the sidewalk to hit the crosswalk button, or a motorvehicle pulling up along side me to signal to the stoplight that there is traffic waiting. Can this be remedied, since this is a large intersection and it is designated for cyclists to use it? Thank you!
